5 Health Realities Worth Considering

At long last, the topic of America's failing health is finally rising to the level of national awareness and political priority. I don't want to sound disgruntled or ungrateful, but man - it's about time!

Wherever you are and whatever state of health you find yourself in right now, be it radiant or dismal or somewhere in between, I hope and pray you will engage in this developing conversation with people that you care about and trust. As you do so, be prepared to have some long-standing beliefs challenged, to have your deepest fears and insecurities unveiled, and to possibly experience moments of deep regret, wishing in retrospect that you had chosen a path different from the one you find yourself on today.

I say this from a place of empathy, not judgment. Like you, I'm on this road of discovery and greater awareness, too, and I've had to make peace with wrong turns and poor decisions I've made in ignorance and in haste. But as I'm sure you've heard, when we know better, we can do better. We can blaze a new trail with our very next step.

And with that in mind, I wanted to present just a few thought-provoking realities that I believe are worthy of reflection and action:

  1. Not a single vaccine has ever been tested for safety. Not one. Modern vaccines have been tested against other vaccines, earlier versions of the same vaccine, and incomplete vaccine solutions, but they have not been tested against a true placebo, which is the foundation of good science. You would think the experts would know this. If you want to learn more, check out the book, Turtles All the Way Down.

  2. Of all known cancers, less than 10% are genetic. This reality suggests the the majority of cancer cases are a result of influences largely within our control: diet, lifestyle, and toxic exposure. And this is why I struggle to support fundraising efforts "for the cure." We know the cure already, but sadly most people would rather put their faith in a pill, potion, or lotion. Genes might load the gun, but our choices pull the trigger.

  3. Newborn babies, in all their innocence and perfection, are administered their first two pharmaceuticals within the first few hours of life (antibiotic ointment for the eyes and Vitamin K shot). Take some time to research when in history these interventions were first initiated, why these actions are taken, and the likelihood of a poor health outcome if the interventions are declined. I believe you'll see that our western medical paradigm is one based on fear and manipulation, and has been for decades.

  4. The third leading cause of death in America is medical error. Yes, you read that right.

  5. With all of our medicines, tests, interventions, and surgeries...with all of our Harvard-trained physicians and specialists and double-blind placebo studies, America is only getting fatter and sicker and more depressed.

So where are we putting our finances, our energy, and most importantly - our hope, and to what end?
